Deuteronomy 23:5
“However, the Lord your God would not listen to Balaam but turned the curse into a blessing for you, because the Lord your God loves you.“
- Deu 23 talks about curses and how the Ammonites or Moabites (Decentance of Lot) were not to enter the assembly of God.
- For the Love of Christ, no curse will impact his children
- For the blood of Christ saves us (Israelites were told to use the blood of the lamb on their doorpost)
Job 1:10
“Have you not put a hedge around him and his household and everything he has? You have blessed the work of his hands so that his flocks and herds are spread throughout the land.”
Luke 22:31
“Simon, Simon, Satan has asked to sift all of you as wheat. 32 But I have prayed for you, Simon, that your faith may not fail. And when you have turned back, strengthen your brothers.”
2 Corinthian 2:7
“or because of these surpassingly great revelations. Therefore, in order to keep me from becoming conceited, I was given a thorn in my flesh, a messenger of Satan, to torment me.”
- Satan is always looking for opportunities to corrupt humans
- God protects his people as mentioned in Job and Peter
- Peter walked with Christ and Satan could have snatched him if God allowed
Food and Curses
A question was raised: Can we food that has been sacrificed for another God?
Does satan have power? the answer is yes, but it can not overpower a child of God.
1 Samuel 17:43
“He said to David, “Am I a dog, that you come at me with sticks?” And the Philistine cursed David by his gods.”
- Curses on David did not impact
- David was a Child of God
Food can be consumer if you do not have the knowledge of where the food is from:
1 Corinthians 10
- There should be a separation of believer vs world
- If there is no separation, you will keep getting invited to these events/occasion
Joshua 24:15
5 But if serving the Lord seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your ancestors served beyond the Euphrates, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you are living. But as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord.”
1 Corinthians 5:14-15
